Week 4 Preview

Week 4 Preview

Now that we are 3 weeks into the season, we are starting to see what teams are made of. Some teams have separated themselves from the rest of the pack, while some others have fallen behind where they want to be. As we start to get into the heart of the season, we will see which teams have the grit to keep fighting, and those who do not.

Millard South (NE) @ Cardinal Ritter

Starting off our Week 4 slate, the Patriots of Millard South will be making the drive to downtown St. Louis to play the Lions of Cardinal Ritter in what should be a powerhouse of a matchup. The Patriots come into this game 3-0 while the Lions are currently 1-2. As I stated last week, this record is very deceiving, as their losses have been the result of a walk off field goal against De Smet and a last-minute loss against Knoxville Catholic. Led by QB Rhylan Moore, Ritter would love to get back to .500 with a win against the high quality program of Millard South.

St. Mary’s @ Jackson

While this first game is going on, the Dragons of St. Mary’s will be making their drive down south to The Pit. To say the least, most teams that make the trip down to The Pit are not quite ready for The Pit. St. Mary’s enters this game with a 2-1 record while Jackson comes into this matchup 3-0. A win for the Dragons would solidify them as one of the top teams in the area.

Seckman @ Pattonville

Over in Pattonville, the undefeated Pirates will face off against the undefeated Seckman Tigers. Led by QB Trevor Beckerman, the Pattonville Pirates look to defend their home turf and get off to their first 4-0 start since 2014. Seckman, however, is looking to get to their 3rd 4-0 start in the past 4 seasons.

SLUH @ St. Dominic

Over in O’Fallon, SLUH will be facing off against the St. Dominic Crusaders. Both of these teams are coming off of strong wins and look to keep that going this week. The Jr. Billikens, led by QB Pat Stein, would love to steal this one from the Crusaders. However, the Crusaders defense, led by LB Jaxsun Nixon, looks to shut down the Jr. Billiken offense and start off 3-1.

Marquette @ Kirkwood

The Kirkwood Pioneers, led by QB Nick Tucci, look to defend their home turf Friday Night against the Mustangs of Marquette. In a matchup that Kirkwood has historically dominated, 14-4 to be exact (since 1999), Marquette is looking for their first victory against the Pioneers in 4 seasons. After an impressive passing performance, QB Kolden Richards looks to turn the tides against the Kirkwood Pioneers.

Other notable matchups:

Chaminade @ De Smet

Triad @ Mascoutah

CBC @ Vianney

Eureka @ Rockwood Summit

MICDS @ Westminster

Francis Howell @ Fort Zumwalt West
