It's Time...

This is what we have all waited for.

4 quarters. 60 minutes. 11 players. All out war. We have waited patiently for this time to return. 258 days to be specific. There is no game like football. No game where you are encouraged to run full speed into another man. No game that challenges everything about your being. No game that can bring an entire city huddled around one field. There truly is nothing else like football.

Week 0 is different from any other week of football. Every team is 0-0. It is a fresh start for every program. Right now, every single team in the St. Louis area has a chance to do something special. For some, it is a chance to bring something to their school and their community that has never been done. For some, it is a chance to continue to establish what their program is about. For others, it is a chance to leave absolutely everything on the field regardless of their program's success. Whatever the situation may be, these players and coaches have the opportunity to be a part of something that most other people do not.

Around 3 million people live in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Approximately ~10,000 kids get to play high school football. That is roughly 0.34% of the population. For those of us who have played high school football in this area, we know how special it is. For those of you currently playing high school football, embrace how special it is.

May the 2026 high school football season be one to be remembered. Players, fasten your chinstraps and put in your mouthpiece, because it is time...
