Week 3 Preview
After 2 weeks of some thrilling action, Week 3 may continue to do the same. From powerhouse MCC rivalries to local conference matchups, the St. Louis area will continue to show up and show out for their teams.
After an absolute nail-biter against SLUH, things do not get much easier this week for CBC. Coming off an incredible comeback win against Cardinal Ritter, the Spartans of De Smet look to send the Cadets right back over Highway 270 where they came from. This game kicks off Friday night at 7PM at Suntrup Field.
Coming off another demanding win last week against Poplar Bluff, Chaminade looks to start off 3-0 for the first time since 2016. Chaminade has a total point differential of 91-35 in their first 2 games. However, the SLUH Jr. Billikens have a bitter taste in their mouth from last week and are eager to get their revenge.
After their good friends from down in Eureka couldn’t get the job done last Friday, Troy Buchanan looks to silence the Pirates of Hannibal. After allowing 0 points against a good O’Fallon team last week, the Trojan defense would love to put up another goose egg against the strong running game of the Pirates.
Cardinal Ritter @ Knoxville Catholic (TN)
The Lions of Cardinal Ritter will be making a trip all the way to Knoxville this week to face the Fighting Irish of Knoxville Catholic. After losing 49-48 to a buzzer beater field goal, The Ritter Lions look forward to avenging themselves against their Tennessee opponent.
Also making the trip to Tennessee are the Hawks of Lift for Life. They will be facing off against the #2 team in Tennessee, the Brentwood Academy Eagles. This game is scheduled to take place this Saturday at 1 PM.
St. Francis Borgia @ Washington
Let me just say, it has been way too long since these teams have played each other. It has been 19 years now since the teams of Washington Missouri have battled each other, and it is about time that they do. If you live in the city of Washington and do not have any plans for Friday night, I think now you do.
Other notable matchups:
Lutheran North @ Lincoln-Way Central
Fort Zumwalt North @ Fort Zumwalt West
